Green Dot & Walmart Prepaid MoneyCards Class Action Settlement

Green Dot and Walmart prepaid MoneyCard customers experienced a service disruption between May 15, 2016, through May 22, 2016, causing them to be unable to access their accounts. An approximate 58,600 were affected by this week long service disruption.

According to the lawsuit, “During the Service Disruption, Plaintiffs and Class members were unable to spend or withdraw their funds in their respective Green Dot Prepaid Card accounts needed for the basic necessities of life, such as food, clothing and shelter,” and in doing so acquired late charges and fees.

You are a considered a class member if you are a green Dot cardholder who attempted but were unable to utilize your card or access your funds between May 15, 2016 and May 22, 2016, because of the service disruption.

  • Class Members will automatically receive a one-month fee holiday from the monthly maintenance fee for their account in the form of a credit or reimbursement. No Claim Form is required to receive this benefit.
  • Class Members who provide documentation supporting their losses may qualify for a payment of up to $750.
  • Class Members without documentation supporting their losses may qualify for a payment of up to $100.
