Eggo Waffle Listeria Recall

According to The Centers For Disease Control, Listeria can cause serious infection, and in some cases, is deadly. Those primarily affected are older adults, pregnant women, newborns, and adults with weakened immune systems. They also note that the bacterium is a problem for all food producers and is hard to control. Previous outbreaks have been found in everything from cantaloupe, to cheeses, and sprouts, and even ice cream. They estimate approximately 1600 illnesses and 260 deaths due to listeriosis ANNUALLY.  

The recalled product, according to Kellog’s press-release includes: CO, CT, DE, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, VA, VT, WI, and WY.

The UPC Code on the packaging is: 38000-40370, and is for the 10-count 12.3 oz size, with Best Used By Dates of NOV/21/17 and NOV/22/17.

Affected consumers are advised by Kellog to discard of the waffles immediately and safely, and contact the company for full refunds at their toll-free number: 1-800-962-1413.
