According to nation-wide arts supplier, Sargent Art, they are recalling all arts and crafts tempera and finger paints due to the paints containing a bacterium, which could prove harmful. According to their website: “Exposure to certain bacteria can have adverse health effects in immunocompromised individuals, posing a risk of serious illness including a bacterial infection. Consumers with healthy immune systems are not generally affected by the bacteria.”

They are offering an immediate refund, and suggest calling their toll-free number (800-827-8081) with concerns, or going to their website and clicking on the “Recall” button. The suggest about 2.8 million bottles of their (13-types) paints have the bacteria. So far, no individual appears to have been harmed by the bacteria in the paint(s).
