In an additional update to Volkswagen’s Emission Cheat Settlement, U.S. District Court Judge Charles Breyer has signed off on Volkswagen’s plan to buyback/fix nearly 88,500 vehicles equipped with the 3.0-Liter TDI V6 engine.

VW already agreed to pay a multi-billion-dollar fee, but this new sign off adds an additional $328 Million to end most of the litigations over VW’s cheating scandal, and another $225 Million to mitigate the environmental effects of nitrogen oxide pollution.

In total, the new set amount VW is to pay out is almost $24 Billion to buy back cars and compensate owners in the U.S. and Canada.
